WHO WE ARE

These beliefs, values, and structures reflect the heart of who we are as a church. They’ve shaped our culture, guide how we do ministry, and point us toward who God has called us to be and where He’s leading us.

  • THE BIBLE

The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible and inerrant.

    (2Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26)

    TRINITY

There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal.

    (I John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-11)

    JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is God the Son, and has existed eternally as the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory.

    (John 1:1,14, 20:28; 1Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6; 1Timothy 2:5)

    SALVATION

We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ; His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts.

    (Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22)

    HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. Given at Pentecost, He is the promise of the Father, sent by Jesus after His Ascension, to empower the church to preach the Gospel throughout the whole earth.

The Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Gospel. The Bible lists of these gifts are not necessarily exhaustive, and the gifts may occur in various combinations. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of Biblical parameters

    (Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 1:5, 2:1-4, 17, 38-39, 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47, 11:15-17, 19:1-6; Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11, 12 :4-8; Ephesians 4:16; 2 Timothy 1:5-16, 4:14; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; 1 Peter 4:10)

    THE CHURCH

The church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ great commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

    (Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23)

    RESURRECTION AND SECOND COMING

Jesus Christ was physically resurrected from the dead in a glorified body three days after His death on the cross. In addition, both the saved and the lost will be resurrected; they that are saved to the resurrection of life and they that are lost to the resurrection of eternal damnation.

Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures.

    (Luke 24:16, 36, 39; John 2:19-21, 20:26-28, 21:4; Acts 24:15; 1 Corinthians 15:42, 44; Philippians 1:21-23, 3:21; Matthew 24:30, 26:63-64; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8; Revelation 1:7)

  • BIBLE

We value the Bible as God's revealed truth and the starting point for real transformation. It’s one of His greatest gifts to us—divinely inspired, perfectly true, deeply relevant. The Word is both simple and profound, comforting and challenging, and it carries the final authority for how we live, lead, and follow Jesus.

The Bible isn’t a self-help manual or a book of outdated wisdom—it’s the revelation of who God is. As we read it and walk with Him, He begins to reshape us from the inside out. His character—what comes naturally to Him but not to us—starts to show up in our everyday lives.

    MISSION

    Reaching people. Building lives.
We’re all about the mission of God—to reach and redeem people, families, neighborhoods, and beyond. From the Garden to Calvary and through every generation since, God has been pursuing people with love, grace, and restoration. And that story continues in us.

God always makes the first move. He loves us, calls us, and invites us to turn from self-led lives and step into the life we were created to live. And when we do, He invites us into His mission. Each of us has a unique role to play, but all of it matters.

Jesus told His disciples the mission would start right where they were and ripple outward—from their city to the world. That’s our heart, too. At Freedom, we believe God’s mission begins in us, moves through our families, transforms our neighborhoods, impacts our city, and reaches to the ends of the earth.

    SPIRITUAL FAMILY

We believe God builds through family—both natural and spiritual.
From the beginning, God has been forming a family, not a religion or a movement. Scripture says He sets the lonely in families (Psalm 68:6), and He’s called every believer to be part of a healthy spiritual one.

A spiritual family is made up of God’s children—people who love Him, worship together, give sacrificially, and serve one another. Jesus said the world would recognize our love for Him by the way we love each other. But too many people feel alone, unseen, and like they don’t belong. That’s where the Church comes in.

We believe the Church should be a safe place—where people can be honest, wrestle with truth, and find help when life is hard. People matter deeply to God, and He wants all of us to experience His love through the kind of spiritual family that doesn't just meet once a week, but shares life together.

    DEVELOPMENT

We value a lifestyle of worship that fuels ongoing growth.
We’re all a work in progress—not who we used to be, and not yet who we’ll become. As we walk with God, we should see real growth taking shape in our lives.

Religion alone can’t change us. It might teach us how to act or what to say, but it can leave the inside untouched. True transformation happens when we give God every part of our hearts and lives—not just in a worship service, but in how we live every day.

Worship is more than music or moments—it’s a way of life. And when we live that way, our growth never stops.

    GENEROSITY

We believe generosity is a powerful act of worship.
Giving our first and best to God is a biblical principle that transforms us from the inside out. When we give—our time, our talents, and our resources—we’re saying “yes” to the mission of Freedom Church: reaching people and building lives.

Generosity always makes an impact. It changes the life of the one who gives and the one who receives. And when we tithe—giving the first 10%—we’re not just obeying God, we’re inviting His blessing into every part of our lives (Malachi 3:10).

  • People Matter to God

We live in a self-focused world, but God’s heart has always been for people. He’s not distant—He cares deeply about every detail of our lives. Scripture makes it clear: nothing matters more to Him than people. And if we truly love God, it will show in how we love others.

Your Destiny Is Tied to Your Relationships

In a culture that treats relationships as disposable, God invites us into something better. He works through families and spiritual community—it’s how He brings blessing and shapes destiny. When it’s all said and done, it won’t be our success or stuff that matters most—it’ll be the people we walked with.

    Character Over Charisma

God gives us gifts to serve Him—but it’s our character that sustains us. Talent may open doors, but only godly character keeps them open. You’re more than what you can do. God isn’t after performance—He’s after your heart. That’s why developing character is essential for a life that lasts.

The Local Church Is the Hope of the World

Acts 2 paints a picture of the early church marked by awe, power, favor, and growth—and we believe God still works like that today. The Gospel, through the local church and the power of the Spirit, still changes lives, families, and cities. That’s what we’re after at Freedom.

We’re More Than Servants—We’re Sons and Daughters

God isn’t building an institution—He’s building a family. Yes, we serve Him, but not as outsiders. We’ve been adopted as sons and daughters. That changes everything. We don’t just attend church—we take ownership of the mission because this is our Father’s house.

    Generosity Transforms

Everything we have is a gift from God. We’re not owners—we’re stewards. Generosity isn't just about meeting needs; it changes us. God doesn’t want something from us—He wants something for us. We’re never more like Jesus than when we live with open hands.

We Were Created to Be in God’s Presence

There’s nothing like His presence. It’s what our souls have always longed for. God isn’t far off—He’s personal, present, and waiting with open arms. Through Jesus, we have full access to Him. Our greatest need is to be close to the God who created us.

    Jesus + Nothing = Everything

Jesus is everything. He didn’t just teach or inspire—He gave His life to save us. We can’t earn our way to God. But through Jesus, we’re given grace, forgiveness, and new life. It’s not Jesus plus something else. It’s Jesus, period.

  • We believe the leadership structure of an organization is very important—it's more than administration—because strategic structures provide the best opportunity for an organization to be healthy. Our structure was not an afterthought—it was the result of a great deal of Biblical examination, due diligence and prayerful consideration.

MY STORY

I grew up mostly in Oklahoma and studied Bible and Business at Oklahoma Wesleyan University. From 2007 to 2013, I served in the U.S. Navy as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician, then continued my education at Regent University and Western Seminary.

In 2009, God brought Bethany into my life. We got married in 2010, and today we’re raising five incredible kids—Wyatt, Annabelle, Brooklyn, Charlotte, and Walker. Together, we’re committed to building a strong marriage and a home filled with love and purpose.

After several years of pastoring in Tulsa, God placed a fresh vision in our hearts: to plant a life-giving, Spirit-filled, community-focused church. In 2020, He opened the door in Williston, North Dakota. With 35 incredible people, we launched Freedom Church on February 28, 2021.

Since then, we’ve seen lives changed, families grow, and faith deepen. And we believe the best is still ahead.

It would be an honor to have you and your family join us for a service. I truly believe Freedom Church is a place you can call home.
